Women's Track and Field Competes at Grove City Invitational
The Penn State Behrend women’s track and field team returned to action traveling to the Grove City Invitational Friday afternoon.
GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team returned to action traveling to the Grove City Invitational Friday afternoon.
Rebecca Blauch (Plum, PA/Plum) and Kati Piger (Williamsport, PA/Loyalsock) led the Lions with a pair of second place finishes. Blauch took second in the 1,500m run with a time of 6:28.87 while Piger's second place came in the long jump. Piger leaped to a mark of 15' 6".
Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) notched a third and fourth place finish. Running a 16.72, Pell was awarded third place in the 100m hurdles. Her fourth place came in the 400m hurdles. She tallied a time of 1:10.54.
In the pole vault, Maura Costa (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) posted a mark of 8' 9". Her score was good enough for third place.
Abbi Papale (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) also grabbed a third place finish. She notched 32' 3.75" in the triple jump, a third place finish.
The Lions will return next at the Allegheny Invitational. The invite will take place next Friday with events starting at 4 p.m.
