Behrend Women's Soccer Moves Up National Rankings
For a second straight week, the Penn State Behrend women’s soccer team is ranked in the United Soccer Coaches (USC) NCAA Division III national rankings.
ERIE, Pa. – For a second straight week, the Penn State Behrend women's soccer team is ranked in the United Soccer Coaches (USC) NCAA Division III national rankings. Last week, the Lions were ranked No. 24 and moved up to No. 22 in the latest poll announced on Tuesday.
The Lions have won 10 in a row, posting seven shutouts and outscoring opponents, 50-3. Behrend is ranked second in the UCS Great Lakes regional rankings behind No. 7 Carnegie Mellon.
With an 8-0 win over Hilbert on Tuesday night, the Lions were crowned the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Regular-Season Champions with an undefeated 8-0 mark in conference play.
Behrend, the No. 1 seed, will look to defend its AMCC title beginning next week with the semifinals slated for Wednesday. The Lions will host the winner of No. 4 Mt. Aloysius vs. No. 5 La Roche at 2:30 p.m. at the Behrend Stadium.
