Behrend Softball Elminated From AMCC Championships
The Penn State Behrend softball team tallied a 2-1 record on day two of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships, defeating Hilbert and Mt. Aloysius but falling to No. 1 seed Altoona 8-3 in an elimination game three.

BRADFORD, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend softball team tallied a 2-1 record on day two of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships, defeating Hilbert and Mt. Aloysius but falling to No. 1 seed Altoona 8-3 in an elimination game three.
Noteworthy: Athena Iverson and Alexia Brown were named to the All-Tournament Team
Game One: Penn State Behrend 5, Hilbert 2
Records: Penn State Behrend (16-21), Hilbert (12-19)
Key Moments:
* Behrend survived the elimination game with three five runs on nine hits in the first game of the day
* Jocelyn McNany (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) hit the go-ahead home run in the bottom of the third to give the Lions a 3-2 edge
* To start the third, Alexia Brown (Wexford, PA/Pine-Richland) reached on a fielders choice and stole second
* Izabel Pozar's (Flagstaff, AZ/Coconino) had an RBI single to score Brown before McNany cranked out her seventh home run of the season to take the lead
* The Lions added another run in the bottom of the fifth
* Chole Nale (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell) singled, stole second and was driven in by a McNany single up the middle to make it 4-2
* Sierra Williams (Grove City, PA/Lakeview) had the RBI single to score Meghan Petitte (Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) in the sixth for the final margin
* Pitcher Abby Tingley (Union City, PA/Union City) threw 122 pitches and struck out four, while allowing just two earned runs for her ninth win in the circle
Game Two: Penn State Behrend 7, Mt. Aloysius 2 (13)
Records: Penn State Behrend (17-21), Mt. Aloysius (18-16)
* There was nine scoreless innings and 33 combined hits in the 13 inning game
* The Lions broke open a 2-all tie in the 13th inning with five runs to advance in the tournament
* In the top of the 13th, McNany walked and stole second before Lexi Edgett (Frisco, TX/Lone Star) walked for two runners on
* Petitte advance the runners with a sacrifice bunt and Williams scored McNany for the eventual game-winning run
* From there, the Lions scored two more runs before the second out
* Pozar tripled to score the final two runs for a 7-2 lead
* Lauren Rabanal pitched the first six innings and Tingley finished the final seven for the win
* Tingley fanned four batters and allowed only four hits for her 10th win
Game Three: Penn State Altoona 8, Penn State Behrend 3
Records: Penn State Behrend (17-22), Penn State Altoona (22-15)
Key Moments:
* Madalyn Maynard hit a grand slam in the first inning to help Altoona take a 5-0 lead
* Altoona used a three-run homer to defeat the Lions on Friday
* Behrend scored its first run in the top of the fifth inning off an Edgett double to score McNany
* Pozar came across the home plate on a sacrifice fly by McNany in the top of the seventh for the Lions before Nale scored on a double by Petitte to make it 8-3 with one out remaining
* Madison Kennedy went the distance for Altoona, giving up four hits and one run to help the Lions advance to the championship game
* Rabanal started the third game, before giving way to Julia Jones (Wilcox, PA/Johnsonburg) and eventually Tingley for the final 2.2 innings
