Behrend Softball Faces Carlow Thursday

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend softball team is hosting Carlow in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) doubleheader on Thursday at the Behrend Field. The first game is at 3 p.m.

* The Behrend Lions are coming off an AMCC doubleheader split with Mt. Aloysius on Sunday
* Behrend rallied in game one to post a 7-5 victory, scoring four runs in the seventh, before falling in game two (14-2)
* In game one, Chloe Nale (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell) went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, an RBI and a run scored
* Jocelyn McNany (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) was named the AMCC Offensive Player of the Week
* McNany recorded a hit in all six games last week, including two or more hits in five of the six.
* She went 12-for-20, hitting .600 to go with a 1.100 slugging percentage. McNany smacked five doubles, one triple and her fifth home run of the season, while scoring seven runs, driving in five runs and stealing a pair of bases
* McNany is tied for ninth in total doubles in the NCAA Division III statistics and is tied for 31^st in batting average (.500)

* The Celtics enter the doubleheader with a 12-18 overall record and 5-3 mark in the AMCC
* Carlow is on a five-game winning streak, sweeping Hilbert and Pitt-Bradford last week
* Freshman pitcher Anna Schumacher was named the AMCC Pitcher of the Week
* Schumacher went 2-0 in the circle with one save while not allowing a run in 8.1 innings of work
