Eighteen Behrend Track & Field Athletes Headed To Regionals
The Penn State Behrend track & field teams will send 18 athletes to the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Outdoor Championships on Wednesday and Thursday, May 14 and 15, hosted by Williams College at The Lee Track at the Weston Athletic Complex
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Penn State Behrend track & field teams will send 18 athletes to the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Outdoor Championships on Wednesday and Thursday, May 14 and 15, hosted by Williams College at The Lee Track at the Weston Athletic Complex. Meet times are 2 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. Thursday.

Behrend News & Notes:
Men
* Thirteen Behrend men will take part in the two-day Regional Championships
* Dan Dabrowski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) (Discus), Alex Cotton (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) (Discus/Shot Put), Aiden Grieneisen (Brockway, PA/Brockway Area) (Javelin), and Carter Tobin (Irwin, PA/Norwin) (100m/200m) all started the outdoor season at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational with AARTFC qualifying marks in their respective events
* Dabrowski is currently second in the region and fourth nationally with his school/meet record of 174-11 that was set at SUNYAC Championships
* Sophomore Brandon Konieczki (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) emphatically punched his regional ticket, breaking the program record at the Walsh Invitational with a distance of 23-7 ½ in the long jump. He will also be participating in the 100m
* Ryan Festa (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) secured a regional spot with a height of 15-1 in the pole vault at the Westminster Invitational
* Throwers Antonio Faraone (New Castle, PA/Union) (Shot Put) and Charlie Motter (Oil City, PA/Oil City) (Javelin) scored regional qualifying marks in their respective events
* Jake Egizio (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan) will join Tobin in the 200m
* Dominic Marino (Girard, PA/Girard) (110m Hurdles) and Nicolin Pierce (Erie, PA/McDowell) (800m) registered AARTFC times in their respective events
* Marino, Egizio, Tobin, Konieczki broke the school record with a time of 41.72 at the John Papa Invitational to qualify for regionals
* The 4x4 relay team of Tobin, Pierce, Egizio, and Logan Brewer (South Park, PA/South Park) will compete on Wednesday
* Wildcard selection for the men is senior high jumper Derek Hillhouse (Erie, PA/McDowell)
Women
* Five Behrend women will be action on Wednesday and Thursday
* Distance runners Lindsey Hartle (Pittsburgh, PA/Avonworth) and Bethany Litwiler (Reynolds, PA/Reynolds) both ran regional qualifying times of 39:54.94 and 39:58.73 in the 10k at the Dave Labor Invitational
* This past weekend at the Cardinal Last Chance Invite, freshman Caroline Lewis (Erie, PA/McDowell) tossed a qualifying mark and personal best 121-9 in the javelin
* Fellow freshman Jaade Duncan (Turner Falls, MA/Turner Falls) will compete in the 100m after delivering a qualifying time of 12.44 at the SUNYAC Championships
* Braylee Lukehart (Reynoldsville, PA/DuBois Area) will be the wildcard selection for the women in the javelin
