Hamilton, Kerr Run Career Bests In Steeplechase At Ashland

ASHLAND, Ohio – The Penn State Behrend men's track & field team took part in the Ashland Alumni Open on Saturday.

Key Moments:

* Dan Dabrowski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) tossed a season best 169-0 in the discus elite for fourth place
* Junior Alex Cotton (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) tallied sixth place with a throw of 49-1 ½ in the shot put. Cotton also placed 17^th in the discus throw (139-6)
* Carter Tobin (Irwin, PA/Norwin) finished seventh in the 100m prelims and finals with times of 11.00 and 10.88
* Tobin was followed by Marshall Nock (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell) (11.35) and Dominic Marino (Girard, PA/Girard) (11.50) in the 100m prelims
* Tobin also earned a fourth place finish in the 200m with a time of 21.87, while Jake Egizio (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan) (22.56) and Jake Nardozza (Harrison City, PA/Penn-Trafford) (22.96) were 12^th and 18^th in this event
* Marino went on to place 19^th in the 110m hurdle prelims with a time of 16.17
* In the javelin, Braden Balaski (Mercer, PA/Mercer) threw a season best 160-3 for fourth place, followed by Cole Cunningham (Mercer, PA/Mercer) (137-6) and Morgan McCall (Meadville, PA/Milton Hershey School) (134-0/PR) in 12^th and 13^th
* Distance runners Tim Hamilton (Winchester, MA/Winchester) (9:59.79) and Bennett Kerr (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) (10:16.64) both ran personal bests in the 3000m steeplechase
* In the 800m, Kody Klein (North East, PA/Cathedral Prep) registered a season best time of 1:59.27 for 13^th
* Egizio delivered a 14^th place time of 50.24 in the 400m
* Boden Gushie (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) jumped 5-11 ½ in the high jump for 16^th place
* Freshman Michael Werner (Erie, PA/Seneca) registered a personal best time of 16:40.52 for 17^th place in the 5000m
