Behrend Men’s 4x1 Relay Team Sets New Program Record; Egizio Qualifies for Regionals in 200

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's track & field 4x1 relay team set a new school record at the John Papa Invite, hosted by Slippery Rock Thursday.

Key Moments:

* The 4x1 relay team of Dominic Marino (Girard, PA/Girard), Jake Egizio (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan), Carter Tobin (Irwin, PA/Norwin), and Brandon Konieczki (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) tallied a third place time of 41.72 to set a new program record, surpassing the time of 41.87 that was run by the team of Doug Stevenson, Mike Ferraro, Michael Johnson, and Phil Stuczynski during the 2008 season
* Tobin would go on to run a personal best time of 21.67 in the 200m for third place with Egizio behind him with a regional qualifying and season best time of 21.91 for sixth
* Tobin also finished fifth in the 100m (10.90) and was followed by Konieczki's time of 11.00 for seventh
* Marino recorded fourth place in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.72
* In the 3000m steeplechase, Peyton Brewer (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) was victorious with a career best time of 9:47.57 and Tim Hamilton (Winchester, MA/Winchester) also ran a personal best time of 10:07.07 for fifth place
* Dan Dabrowski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) won the discus throw with a toss of 157-7
* Throwers Charlie Motter (Oil City, PA/Oil City) (Javelin/166-6) and Alex Cotton (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) (Shot Put/50-9 ¾) placed third and seventh in their respective events
* Distance runners Nicolin Pierce (Erie, PA/McDowell) (1:58.07) and Aiden Seeman (Edinboro, PA/General McLane) (1:58.49) notched fifth and sixth in the 800m, while Alex Haskins (North East, PA/North East) (16:23.23) and Michael Werner (16:50.75) notched seventh and ninth in the 5000m
* Freshman Shlok Chavda (Chantilly, VA/Freedom South Riding) registered ninth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 59.51
* The 4x4 relay team of Tobin, Pierce, Egizio, and Jake Nardozza (Harrison City, PA/Penn-Trafford) ended the meet with a third place time of 3:25.29
