10 Lions Prepped For AARTFC Indoor Championships
The Penn State Behrend indoor track & field team will send 10 athletes to the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Indoor Championships this Friday and Saturday at the Glazer Arena at the Athletics and Events Center in Ithaca.
ITHACA, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend indoor track & field team will send 10 athletes to the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Indoor Championships this Friday and Saturday at the Glazer Arena at the Athletics and Events Center in Ithaca.

Men
* Seven Behrend men will compete at the two-day regional championships
* Senior Ryan Festa (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) will take part in the pole vault after securing a regional spot with a height of 14-8 ¼ in the Lions season opener on December 7
* Throwers Alex Cotton (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) and Antonio Faraone (New Castle, PA/Union) both scored qualifying distances of 50-0 ½ and 48-5 ½ in the shot put
* Cotton currently sits tied for 18th in the Division III rankings with a career-best mark of 53-8 ½
* Brandon Konieczki (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) emphatically punched his regional ticket, breaking the program record in the long jump (23-3 ¼) on February 8 at Brockport
* Konieczki also joins Carter Tobin (Irwin, PA/Norwin) and wildcard selection Marshall Nock (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell) in the 60m dash
* In the 200m, Tobin and sophomore Jake Egizio (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan) will run on Saturday
* The 4x2 relay team of Tobin, Egizio, Jake Nardozza (Harrison City, PA/Penn-Trafford), and Cole Cunningham (Mercer, PA/Mercer) will complete the meet on Saturday
Women
* Freshman Jaade Duncan (Turner Falls, MA/Turner Falls) is the lone Behrend woman competing at regionals
* Duncan claimed a spot in 60m at the SUNYAC Indoor Championships with a personal-best and regional-qualifying time of 8.02
* She will also be the wildcard option for the Lions in the 200m dash
