Behrend Sits in Second Place at AMCC Championships
The Penn State Behrend men’s swimming team has tallied 281 points over two days of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships, in conjunction with the Empire 8 Championships, on Thursday.
ROCHESTER, NY – The Penn State Behrend men's swimming team has tallied 281 points over two days of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships, in conjunction with the Empire 8 Championships, on Thursday.
Combined Men's Scores: 1. Alfred State (372), 2. Nazareth (361), 3. Alfred (307.5), 4. Penn State Behrend (281), 5. Hartwick (256), 6. Penn State Altoona (131), 7. Utica (65.5), 8. Pitt-Bradford (60)
Noteworthy:
* Tim Compton (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) started off the second night of finals with an individual championship in the 500 free
* Compton won the gold medal with a time of 4:42.21
* Jake Schmidt (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) was second in the 500 free with a time of 4:44.09
* In the 200 IM, Jacob Eshelman (Franklin, PA/Franklin) claimed second place and fourth overall with a time of 1:58.54
* The Lions had four players finish in the top 10 in the 50 freestyle
* Justin Heller (Franklin, PA/Rocky Grove) led the pack with a third-place tally in 21.85
* In the final 200 freestyle relay, Heller, Schmidt, Dan Tanaskovic (Pittsburgh, PA/Central Valley) and Eshelman posted a time of 1:26.40 for second in the conference and fourth overall
