GRANVILLE, Ohio – The No. 3 Penn State Behrend baseball team will take on No. 2/18 Keystone in the second game of the NCAA Regional Tournament pod on Friday, May 16 hosted by No. 1 Denison. First pitch at Big Red Field is slated for 2:30 p.m.

* Behrend captured back-to-back and its eighth AMCC Championship with three straight wins this past week, defeating Alfred State 8-2 in the championship game on Saturday
* Saturday's win marked the programs ninth time reaching 30 wins in a season and first since 2016
* Hank Shaffer (Saegertown, PA/Saegertown), Daniel Boehme (Peters Township, PA/Seton LaSalle), and Jack Baumgartel (Sewickley, PA/North Allegheny) were named to the All-Tournament Team

* Head Coach Paul Benim earned his sixth AMCC Coach of the Year honor and first since 2013
* Ciocco currently ranks ninth in the nation with a .455 batting average to go along with a team-high in on-base percentage (.526), slugging (.614), hits (66), doubles (12), home runs (three) and RBIs (42)
* Ciocco had a 17-game hitting streak snapped against Alfred State in the championship game. This hitting streak was tied for the second longest in program history
* Ciocco has reached base in 38 of Behrend's 39 contests this season and sits 21st in Division III as one of the toughest hitters to strikeout with only seven strikeouts in 145 at-bats this year
* Turner (.381), Nicely (.374), Boehme (.368), Burick (.340), Ionadi (.321), Palmer (.308), and Shaffer (.308) are all hitting over .300
* Nicely is also second on the team with 31 runs batted in, while Ionadi leads the team in runs (46) and is tied for first in doubles (12) and home runs (three)
* Bredel leads the team and is 23rd in the nation with eight wins to go along with a 2.70 ERA and 52 strikeouts in 50.0 innings pitched
* Bolla and Evan Bromley (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) have tallied six wins apiece on the mound, while Bolla has struck out a team-high 56 batters
* Manendo and Lang have each registered five saves in 13 and 12 appearances, respectively
* Bredel (90 strikeouts) and Ethan Tinker (Pittsburgh, PA/Avonworth) (94 strikeouts) are on the verge of 100 career K's
* Ionadi is eight hits away from 150 career hits
* Behrend received 16 votes in the D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 Week 11 Poll
* As a team, the Lions are eighth in all of Division III with a .342 batting average
* Behrend picked up a regional victory, 10-4, at Baldwin Wallace last season

* Keystone came in at 18th in the latest D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 Poll after defeating No. 19 Penn State Harrisburg by a score of 6-3 in the United East Conference Championship to claim its second consecutive United East title and 20th straight conference championship
* The Giants enter Friday's contest with a 35-9 overall record and are currently on a seven-game winning streak
* Starter Sean Brennan was named 2025 United East Pitcher of the Year, while head coach Jamie Shevchik earned Coach of the Year honors
* Twelve Giants were selected to the All-Conference Team: Brennan (First Team), Andy Rivas (First Team), Chase Boyle (First Team), Nate Ewing (First Team), Darren Hagan (First Team), Drew Sorrentino (First Team), Griffin Yastremski (Second Team), Quinn Holt (Second Team), Carlos Pascual (Third Team), Robert Estrada (Third Team), Leam Powell (Third Team), Anthony Mierez (Third Team)
