Behrend Earns Three Seed In Regional Baseball Tournament
The Penn State Behrend baseball team will head to Granville, Ohio for the 2025 NCAA Division III Regional Tournament, hosted by Denison.
ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team will head to Granville, Ohio for the 2025 NCAA Division III Regional Tournament, hosted by Denison. The No. 3 seed Lions will take on No. 2 Keystone in the first round on Friday, May 16 with the game time yet to be announced.
No. 1 seed Denison and No. 4 seed Manchester will matchup in the first game of on Friday.
Behrend captured back-to-back and its eighth Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championship with three straight wins this past week, defeating Alfred State 8-2 in the championship game on Saturday.
Keystone (35-9), who is ranked 24th in D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25, was victorious over No. 19 Penn State Harrisburg by a score of 6-3 in the United East Conference Championship to claim its second straight conference title and 18th appearance in the Regional Tournament.
Denison (35-5), currently ranked third in D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25, grabbed an automatic bid by winning its sixth straight North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) title over Wooster by a score of 10-5.
Manchester (29-12) received an automatic bid by defeating Transylvania 7-3 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championship to win its seventh title and first since 2013.
This marks the seventh appearance in the NCAA Tournament and second time in program history that Behrend has earned a three-seed in a regional pod with the last time being in 2009.
The 2025 Regional Tournament will feature 64 teams competing across 16 regional brackets, each consisting of four teams in a double-elimination format.
