JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The No. 1 Penn State Behrend baseball team opens the 2025 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Tournament against No. 4 Hilbert on Thursday, May 8. First pitch at Point Stadium in Johnstown is scheduled for 1 p.m.

* The Lions ended the regular season with a doubleheader sweep of Mount Aloysius on Sunday to be named Regular Season Champions and claim the first seed in the tournament
* Senior Mac Ciocco (Venetia, PA / Peters Township) went 4-for-8 in the twinbill, while five Behrend pitchers threw in game two and only allowed two hits with a combined 11 strikeouts
* Ciocco ranks second in the AMCC and 10th in the nation with a .459 batting average (62-for-135). He is also first in the conference in hits (62), third in runs batted in (40), third in on-base percentage (.519), tied for fourth in doubles (12), and fourth in slugging percentage (.630)
* Ciocco is currently on a 15-game hitting streak and has reached base in 35 of Behrend's 36 contests this season

* Hilbert dropped a doubleheader to Pitt-Bradford on Thursday to conclude the season with an 18-17 overall record
* Sophomore Joey Haynes reached base safely in 8-of-9 plate appearances in Thursday's twinbill, recording three hits, two runs, two walks, and a run batted in. He finished last week with a .750 batting average, .889 on-base percentage, and 1.639 OPS
* The Hawks defeated No. 5 Mount Aloysius by a score of 9-8 in extras in their first game of tournament, thanks to a walk-off single by Garrett Brink in the bottom of the 10th
* Haynes is tied for second in the conference rankings in batting average (.459), fifth in hits (51), fifth in slugging percentage (.595), and fifth in stolen bases (16)
