ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's bowling team competes for the second time this season, hosting the 2023 Grapevine Bowling Classic on Saturday and Sunday at Eastland Bowl.
Schedule of Events:
Saturday, Oct. 14: Five matches of traditional games, 12:00 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 15: Four matches of baker format, 9:55 p.m.
Participating Teams:
* Penn State Behrend, Daemen, La Roche, Pitt-Greensburg, Hilbert, D'Youville, Roberts Wesleyan, Ursuline, William Smith, and Saint Vincent

* The Lions opened up the 2023 season last weekend at the two-day Division II Mercyhurst Invitational, placing sixth out of nine teams with a 4-5 overall record
* Behrend notched three traditional wins on Saturday, defeating Wilmington (Del.), D'Youville, and 11th ranked Daemen
* Junior Sidney Batsa (Latrobe, PA/Greater Latrobe) placed 10th overall with a traditional average of 180.20
* Emily Warrene (Tarentum, PA/Deer Lakes) had the highest single game score for the Lions, tallying a 213 in game three against Mt. Aloysius
* In game one vs. Wilmington (Del.), Ashley Debich (Leechburg, PA/Kiski Area) bowled a team-high 206
* On Sunday, Behrend earned a baker victory over Pitt-Bradford, 743-713
* Steve Benke is in his fifth season as head bowling coach
* The Lions were picked third out of 11 teams in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Women's Bowling Preseason Coaches' Poll
