Allen Wins 60 Meter Dash, Lions Compete at RIT
The Penn State Behrend women’s track and field team finished 10th out of 14 teams in their season opening invitational at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Paige Allen led the Lions winning the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.09 and took second in the 200 meter dash posting a time of 27.11.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team finished 10th out of 14 teams in their season opening invitational at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler) led the Lions winning the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.09 and took second in the 200 meter dash posting a time of 27.11.
Abby Gilmore (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) took 13th place in the 500 meter dash running a time of 1:28.81. In the 3,000 meter run Katie Manno (Erie, PA/McDowell) tallied a time of 11:58.09 earning her 25th place.
Catherine Fox (Fairview, PA/Fairview) took 13th place in the 5,000 meter run while teammate Miranda Boatman (Bellefonte, PA/Bellfonte) finished just behind Fox in 15th. Fox ran a time of 21:51 while Boatman carded a 22:23.46.
In the 60 meter hurdles Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) placed 16th with a time of 11.16. Maura Costa (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) took 12th in the pole vault with a distance of 2.45m.
Next up for the squad is the Spire North Invitational in Geneva, Ohio next Saturday. Events will start at 10:00 a.m.
