Men’s Cross Country Seeking Fifth Straight Conference Championship

GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team will compete in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2, hosted by Pitt-Greensburg. The 8k race begins at noon at Westmoreland Fairgrounds.

* The Lions are in search of their fifth straight AMCC title and 16^th in program history
* Last season, Behrend had 11 runners notch All-Conference honors with current runners Lucas Boyd (North East, PA/North East), Bennett Kerr (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional), Peyton Brewer (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek), Aidan Reinsel (North East, PA/North East), Nicolin Pierce (Erie, PA/McDowell), and Emil George (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) all earning conference accolades
* Boyd was named the Newcomer of the Year with a runner-up time of 26:13.84
* Kerr (third) and Brewer (sixth) placed in the top six last year with times of 26:48.17 and 27:12.50
* Rounding out the All-Conference selections were Reinsel (27:13.83), Pierce (27:30.08), George (28:02.10), and Saynuk (28:10.99), finishing eighth, ninth, 12^th, and 13^th, respectively
* As a team, the Lions control 11 of the top-15 conference 8k times this season
* Boyd hold the fastest AMCC mark this year with a time of 26:49.2 at Gettysburg. The second-year runner also stands eighth and 10^th on the list
* Followed by Boyd is Kerr who registered the third, sixth, and 15^th fastest times this season
* Other Lions to deliver top-15 conference times were George (fifth/27:36.1), Reinsel (seventh/27:40.3), Brewer (12^th/27:56.3), Alex Haskins (North East, PA/North East) (13^th/28:07.1), and Tim Hamilton (Winchester, MA/Winchester) (14^th/28:09.3)
* The top-12 Behrend runners will be in action on Saturday with the top-10 finishers earning a spot on the AMCC All-Conference Team
